Your artist will cover your fresh tattoo with a bandage or wrap. Keep it on for 2–6 hours (or as advised). This protects your tattoo from bacteria and infection.
After removing the bandage with clean hands:

Wash gently with lukewarm water and mild fragrance-free soap.

Remove excess ink, blood, and plasma carefully.

Pat dry with a clean paper towel (do not rub).
Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free ointment (like tattoo balm). Do not over-apply — your skin needs to breathe.
